These are religious-calendar dates from the Diyanet. They do not say which TRNC institutions close, or whether the eve of a festival is a half day.

Three secondary lists agree on the days below. The law that fixes them was not read, so treat the list as unconfirmed and check the Public Holidays and Commemoration Days Law on the Public Service Department's laws page. The names 'Peace and Freedom Day' and 'Republic Day' are the designations used by the TRNC authorities for 20 July and 15 November.

Whether a holiday that falls on a weekend is moved to a weekday was not found in any source. The status of the Mawlid as a public holiday was also not confirmed, so it is not listed.
What closes
The BRT notice for the 2025 Sacrifice Festival said government and semi-government offices and banks were closed, and police, municipalities and emergency services stayed on duty. Use this as a precedent only: no equivalent notice exists yet for 2027.
No source was found for land registry or notary opening days on public holidays. Do not assume they open. If a transfer, a deposit or a payment depends on a registry or a bank, leave buffer working days around 9–11 March and 16–19 May 2027, and ask the office and your lawyer for written confirmation.

When is Ramadan Festival in 2027?
9–11 March 2027 according to the Diyanet calendar (checked 4 November 2026). Eve and office-closing arrangements are not covered by that calendar.
When is Sacrifice Festival in 2027?
16–19 May 2027 according to the Diyanet calendar. The last day coincides with 19 May, Youth and Sports Day.
Are TRNC public holidays the same as in Türkiye?
The lists overlap but the legal basis differs. The TRNC list is fixed by a TRNC law that was not read here; do not carry over Turkish rules such as bridge days without a TRNC notice.
Are banks and government offices closed during the festivals?
In June 2025 BRT reported that they were closed for the Sacrifice Festival, with police, municipalities and emergency services on duty. That is a precedent, not a 2027 guarantee.
Do the land registry and notaries work on public holidays?
Not confirmed. No TRNC source was found. Ask the office and your lawyer in writing before you fix a completion date.
