About North Cyprus · Utilities
Utilities in North Cyprus: electricity, water, phone and internet
As of 28 October 2026, the Telecom Department directory lists 188 as the electricity fault code, and the mobile operators Turkcell and Telsim publish their own subscription pages. KIB-TEK's websites, the Interior Ministry municipality list and e-Devlet are not used as a source, so this page states no electricity subscription steps, tariffs or full municipality list. It summarises what each page used here prints, with a link to each.
Checked 28 October 2026 against the sources named in the text and listed below. Positions of parties are attributed to them.

Electricity and fault and emergency codes
The electricity supplier in North Cyprus is KIB-TEK, but kibtek.com and online.kibtek.com are not used as a source, so nothing on this page is taken from them. Subscription, transfer, payment, meter-reading and closure rules for electricity should be read on KIB-TEK's own pages or confirmed with KIB-TEK before paying.
The Telecom Department's service directory is used here. According to it, printed on 28 October 2026, the special service number 188 is listed as "Elektrik Arızası" (electricity fault). The page does not say whether 188 can be dialled from a foreign SIM, so confirm that with your operator.

Municipal water, waste and property-tax bills
The Interior Ministry's municipality list is not used as a source, so this page does not give a total or a full list of municipalities. It names only the municipalities that appear, with their hotline codes, in the Telecom Department's special services directory. Water, waste and property-tax procedures differ by municipality and are not stated here except where a municipality's own page was opened.
The Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality website is the one municipal site used here. According to it, water, property and penalty debts can be looked up and paid by credit card in the municipality's online treasury (E-Vezne), using a subscriber number for water and a registration number for property tax. For the other municipalities, use the hotline codes below to ask which office handles your address.

Landlines and fixed telecommunications
The Telecom Department (Telekomünikasyon Dairesi) publishes a home page, an office list and a forms page. According to its home page, a section titled "NASIL ABONE OLUNUR" gives only the line "Abone Olmak için izlenecek Prosedür", so the subscription steps themselves are not stated on the page.
The forms page lists "Telefon Yeni Tesis ve Telefon Nakil Başvuru Formu" among its forms. Landline procedures and charges should be confirmed with the department; see also the practical information page and the government offices page.

Mobile operators and what they print for foreign customers
Two operators' own sites are used: Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell (kktcell.com) and Telsim (kktctelsim.com). According to Turkcell's subscription help page, the postpaid document list for "3. Ülke Vatandaşları (Yabancı Uyruklular)" has three items: a fixed bill paid to the state (water, electricity, municipal bill, bank credit-card statement, property tax, Digitürk or Telsim bill), a property or vehicle document, and the paper showing a work-permit application.
Telsim's new-line page says an application can be made online and that you need "your ID card or passport"; it does not mention foreigners separately. Neither operator's page states document rules for prepaid lines held by foreign nationals, so ask the operator. For permits and work rules see the residence permit page and the working in North Cyprus page. This is informational, not legal advice.

Home internet, the regulator and television
According to the website of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTHK, Bilgi Teknolojileri ve Haberleşme Kurumu), its "Authorized Electronic Communications Providers" page lists 48 authorisation entries, all marked ACTIVE, under about 31 company names (the page prints no total), with their authorisation types, including Internet Service Provider (ISP) authorisations. This page names an internet provider only where that provider's own site is used, so the register is linked rather than reproduced.
Among internet providers, this page uses only the own pages of Extend Broadband and Turkcell. No first-party page for subscribing to satellite or cable television in North Cyprus is used here. This page therefore gives no television provider details and no advice on unlicensed IPTV; check any television or foreign-channel service with the provider's own site.
