Luxury and 5-star hotels in North Cyprus: a district-by-district inventory
As of 19 October 2026: North Cyprus has many resort and city hotels that describe themselves as 5-star, mostly around Kyrenia, Alsancak and Çatalköy in the west, Bafra and İskele in the east, and Famagusta. We could not verify any official star classification from the TRNC authorities, so this page lists operator statements only, marks the gaps and gives no prices.

How to read "5-star" in North Cyprus
Hotels in North Cyprus are classified by the TRNC tourism authorities. On 19 October 2026 we could not read a published classification list or the rules that define the star levels, so we cannot tell you which hotel holds which official class. Where a hotel calls itself "5-star", we treat that as the operator's wording. Guest review scores and "luxury" or "ultra luxury" labels are marketing and are not an official class either.
Two checks save time. Ask the hotel for its current tourism licence and classification certificate, and confirm the district on an official map: several sites label the same place with different district names.
Kyrenia, Alsancak, Çatalköy, Esentepe and Nicosia
The north coast around Kyrenia concentrates harbour-town, marina and beachfront hotels, many with a casino and spa. Nicosia (north) has two business-oriented hotels with casinos.

Not read: Kaya Palazzo, Acapulco, Rocks, Cratos Premium, Oscar Resort, Grand Pasha, Dome, Chamada, Golden Tulip and City Royal are not described here because their official sites could not be read or confirmed. Nothing is implied about them.
Bafra, İskele and Famagusta district
Bafra Tourism Zone and Yeni İskele are in the İskele district. A hotel's own wording about the Karpaz peninsula is a marketing description and does not place it in Dipkarpaz or inside the protected Karpaz area. Grand Sapphire is in İskele, not in Famagusta city.

Long Beach Resort and Concorde Luxury Resort & Casino are not listed: we could not find or read an official site for either.
What is not on this page, and why
- Prices and distances: hotel sites quote distances that are not road distances and sometimes contradict each other; we publish neither prices nor those distances.
- Casino rules: we could not read the current gambling law (Law 31/2009 and amendments) from an official source, so we do not state an entry age or residency rule. Ask the venue and check the law.
- Karpaz, Güzelyurt, Lefke and Mesarya: we found no verified hotel in our sources; an official registry scan is still needed before anyone can say none exists.
- Photos: hotel photographs are copyrighted and are not used here.
If you are also looking at property
NORTHEA has no commercial arrangement with any hotel named here, and a hotel nearby says nothing about a property's value or rental income. If you are weighing a purchase, start from the district guides and a verified listing, not from a hotel's marketing.
Exceptions and limits. No official star classification could be verified for any hotel: the TRNC ministry's classification list could not be read. Room counts, opening years and facilities are the operators' own statements. Prices, distances and casino entry rules are not stated.

We could not verify an official classification for any hotel because the ministry's list could not be read. Many hotels describe themselves as 5-star; ask for the tourism licence and classification certificate.
Where are the big resort hotels?
Around Kyrenia, Alsancak and Çatalköy on the north coast, in the Bafra Tourism Zone and Yeni İskele in the İskele district, and near Salamis and Famagusta.
Is Grand Sapphire in Famagusta?
Its own site gives an İskele address (Cevizli neighbourhood), so it should not be placed in Famagusta city.
Is Concorde Aria open?
Not confirmed. The operator's own site says its opening is planned in 2026, so confirm the current status and availability with the hotel.
What is the casino entry age?
We could not verify it from an official source. One hotel states 25+ on its own site; confirm with the venue and the current law.
Are there 5-star hotels in Dipkarpaz or Lefke?
We found no verified hotel there, but our research did not include an official registry scan, so we cannot say none exists.
